This is an out and back 31.5 mile trail
run along scenic Baker Lake near Concrete, Washington. The race
starts on a paved road at the Kulshan Campground (owned and
operated by Puget Sound Energy). After a little over 1/2 mile,
runners cross the Upper Baker Dam and then the road changes from
pavement to gravel. At 1.75 miles, runners start on the Baker
Lake East Bank Trail. The trail continues for 14 miles. A half-mile
before the turnaround, runners will come to a suspension bridge
over the Baker River. Runners will then head south for the final
half-mile before the turnaround. At the turnaround, there will
be an aid station and drop bags. Runners must have their race
numbers recorded at this time by aid personnel. The return trip
follows the same trail and road but in reverse order. Be prepared
to pass fellow runners as they head towards the turnaround. The
finish line will be at the same location as the start. Click
here for course map.
The course is easy to follow and will
be well marked. Crew members are not allowed on the trail;
however, they can meet their runner at the turnaround. Click
here for crew driving directions to the turnaround.
Crew members found on the trail will cause their runner to be
disqualified.
Drop bags will be taken to the
turnaround point. They will be returned to the Start/Finish at
12:30 pm.
